About Sideband Editions
Sideband Editions is a personal imprint for work by ghostline.
It began as a way to explore what happens at the intersection of human creativity and generative AI, first through fiction and then through the music, images and other work that grows around a story.
Sideband Editions is a personal creative project and does not accept submissions.
HOW THE WORK IS MADE
At the intersection
Generative AI is used as part of an iterative creative process: generating possibilities, testing them, rejecting them, revising them and deciding what belongs. That process can involve writing, editing, image-making and music production.
The technology is part of the process, but it is not the point of the work. Creative judgement and responsibility for the finished work remain human. The process has limitations, compromises and unresolved questions, and Sideband Editions is interested in those too.
